Jude 20,21

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

There will be days when no words can explain the burden on your heart.  You won’t know how to pray, and everything will feel like a mess. At those times pray in the Holy Spirit who understands what you need and trust the Lord to help you.  “Keep yourselves in the love of God” who holds you in His hands and lifts you out of trouble

Colossians 2:8

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

The world has many varied opinions, and it is hard to find the truth.  Praise God we have His word to guide us in an everchanging world. God does not change, and His laws do not change.  The best way to stay in peace when the world is in fear is the bible.  We have something more significant to trust in than ever-changing opinions and philosophies.  If what you are told doesn’t line up with the word of God than move on and keep your peace with the word.

Romans 13:14

Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

You remember when you were a kid, and someone told you not to do something because it would end wrong, but, you didn’t listen.  Simply stated, God warns us about the bad that can enter our lives. He reminds us of the pitfalls and destruction that we can avoid.  He tells us if we put on Jesus a way is possible to avoid being controlled by the flesh. He loves us that much.

Proverbs 8:17

I love those who love me,

And those who seek me diligently will find me.

We have a part to play in our relationship with Jesus.  If you are looking to draw closer to Jesus, you must first draw closer to Him.  The strength of your relationship relies on how much focus you give to Jesus.  Love is a two-way street, and we know God loves us.  Good relationships take work, and there is no better relationship than one with God.

1 Peter 3:10

He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.

Have you ever stopped in the middle of speaking and wonder why something came out of your mouth? “He who would love life and see good days,” which every one of us wants.  This scripture says the power for those good days is in how we speak about our lives and situations.  If you need a boost to speak better fill yourself with the Bible, read it until you remind yourself of all the goodness Jesus wants you to have.

Psalm 62:8

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Ever stop and think about what you are trusting in?  Have any of them ever promised to be your refuge?  Many things cross our paths on a daily basis, and we choose which ones to focus on. Jesus already knows our heart but when we pour it out to Him, we fellowship with Him.  What we trust in changes our outlook and when it is God it changes our lives.  Trust leads to hope, and hope can bring us through the good times and bad.

 

Mathew 11:29-30

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

This picture is of an animal burdened down pulling something and working.  Jesus creates an image of opposites because having Him in your life is not a burden. His yoke, His teaching, His way that He wants to help you in your life frees you.  When we learn from Jesus and free ourselves from the direction of the world we release our souls. We find the happiness we crave and our needs met.

Mathew 20:26-27

Yet it shall be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.

The power of a servant’s heart.  Jesus is the greatest servant that ever existed.  The world teaches us that to be first, you must, well…be first in everything, except the motivation is critical.  To lead people and touch lives you have to be willing to be humble, learn and serve.  Our motives and hunger for Jesus teaches us to softens our hearts and give. Experienced givers to others are the most satisfied people.

Psalm 91:1-2

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him I will trust.

Psalm 91 is like putting on armor.  Go to your bible and read the whole psalm.  Memorize the psalm from start to finish and say it over yourself every day. Soldiers have repeated it in wars and so should we. We go to battle every day even though we don’t know it and God wants us to stay under His cover.

Jeremiah 33:33

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

Knowledge is power. We have all heard that, but the God kind of knowledge shows you how to move mountains, save money, build relationships and reach the lost.  Every one of us can use a little extra help in life, otherwise, we become discouraged in the faith fight.  We need to trust in what we don’t see to change what we do.
