Luke 8:18

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Do ever wonder if your hearing when you study the Bible, “Take heed therefore how ye hear.” Sometimes hearing from God as you study the bible takes time and concentration. The time you sit down to Bible study can be the time filled with the most distractions in your mind. Sometimes, focusing on smaller sections can yield bigger results and you may need to reread a section several times.

Luke 18:20-21

The kingdom of God cometh not with observation (it’s not a place): Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there, behold the kingdom of God is within in you.

When you were born again the kingdom of God came inside of you. He washed away your sins and took you out of the darkness. The most excellent resource for guidance in our lives walks around with us every day. Listen to the inward witness in your spirit to guide you. Build yourself up in the word and pray and God will lead you daily

John 10:10-11

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

The thief comes to steal our purpose. If the devil can derail us he can stop us from getting God’s’ best. Our lives can end up defeated if the devil gets us to doubt Jesus. If we don’t recognize the source of the problem we may blame God for the source of the trouble. Remind yourself that Jesus is the good shepherd, and He came that we have life and have it more abundantly.

John 10:4-5

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Some days we need to remember we are sheep in a flock and that Jesus goes before us in our day to day lives. We aren’t left alone in this world even the devil would like us to think so. Every day the world pushes opinions and voices at us but, “for they know not the voice of strangers.” Test the voices and opinions against God’s word. Don’t believe everything you hear keep and test what you hear against the word.

Romans 5:20-21

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to perform.

When you know you have a promise and believe in something you will not waver. Think about what it is that makes you fully persuaded. We go from unbelief to belief pretty quickly depending on what we hear and who we hear it from. If we become fully persuaded that the word of God is true and final and settled in our hearts we would not stagger in unbelief either.

Romans 4:4-5

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

We want our faith to be counted for righteousness. We started out as the ungodly lost in our sins and received salvation. Now, we are a new creation washed clean of the old. By faith, we were saved through Jesus, and when the devil tries to remind you of the old self, you remind the devil of your righteousness. Jesus justified the ungodly and removed our condemnation.

Romans 2:13

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

This verse is about the futility of doing the law because no one could keep it. That is why Jesus came to this earth to die as a sin substitute so that we could gain salvation. Work could never substitute the sacrifice of the Lamb. The hardest part for most people is to believe that Jesus is willing to make us righteousness. Just believe and let God work the miracles in your life.

Jeremiah 33:33

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

Knowledge is power. We have all heard that, but the God kind of knowledge shows you how to move mountains, save money, build relationships and reach the lost.  Every one of us can use a little extra help in life; otherwise, we become discouraged in the faith fight.  We need to trust in what we don’t see to change what we do.

Psalm 138:8

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;

Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;

Do not forsake the works of Your Hands.

The Lord created us and knew us before we were born.  He has a plan for our lives for good things and a good experience.  He works on your behalf daily and guides you in ways you don’t even see.  Trust in the Lord and listen to His leading and build yourself up in the Lord today by remembering you’re essential to your Father in heaven.

 

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

“Wait for me!” And then you find out what you were looking at wasn’t worth it.  Repentance and turning to God is about finding the right road in the midst of a lot of wrong turns.  Sometimes, some junk needs to be cleared out of life before the person can see ahead. How blessed we are to have a God who waited for us as He sent people to plant seeds in our lives.  Even more exciting to then become the one to help those find repentance.
