1 Corinthians 14:33

God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the church of the saints.

This world is filled with so much noise, strife, discontent and distractions that it is easy to get confused. It’s no wonder that people are confused and anxious about trying to live their lives. We take vacations to find some rest and peace but, what if we could live our everyday in peace? Time is a commodity and how we spend it depends on what we value. When we read our Bibles, we find the peace. “God is not the author of confusion but of peace.” He sent His word to us to stabilize our thinking and bring us contentment.

Philippians 4: 6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We all have times of need, questions, fears but God says “not to be anxious about anything,” When do we need to do it? Right away don’t let your mind race down the rabbit trail. Fear is a liar, and Gods’ word is real. Remind yourself of your confidence in the father. Remember all the things He has done for you. Pull out scripture and quote out loud. Shout the voice of doubt down with scripture if you have to, but don’t let fear get a foothold. Peace and calm always lead to better decisions and the peace that transcends understanding is your assurance of an answer to your prayer.

Hebrews 4: 12-13

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The word of God is ALIVE and ACTIVE. The word is producing every day of our lives whether we believe it or not. We are supposed to let the word seep into ourselves and divide soul and spirit so the spirit can reign. The process allows our worlds to become more abundant, not smaller. When our spirits gain knowledge, we gain ground against the enemy. The soul can lead us astray if given a chance but the spirit shows us how to reign with God.

Mathew 7:7-8

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Do you ever just need an answer or help with a decision. Sometimes the things of God require persistence in the seeking of an answer. Through faith, we can believe that our Father is working on our behalf to show us the way, open doors, and heal the body. We have a part to play by going to Jesus and presenting our need and give time for God to work on our behalf.

Psalm 37:4

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give me the desires of my heart.

The deeper we go into Jesus and the closer we try to get to Him the more He gives us the desires of our hearts. Our relationship with Jesus is a real relationship of love and honor. When we love the Lord and honor his word above all else, we draw closer to Him. God knows how to fill and fulfill all our needs, and He wants to. Peace, joy, love, happiness comes close to us when we set our affections on the things above.

2 Corinthians 4:18

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Circumstances. Have you ever been in a spot and think nothing is going to change? Or you have prayed, and you wait, but the only dust has blown off the mountain. Patience sometimes seems like a virtue you will never possess. Remind yourself in those moments that what you are going through is subject to change. Quote scripture to that mountain to build you up and tear it down. The feelings will change just as night turns to day.

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Have you ever noticed how willing God is to give to us, especially all that is good? He wants to keep us out of the rough spots by giving us wisdom. It doesn’t mean we are weak when we turn to Him for help and we are not a burden to Him. He wants to answer our needs and teach us His way. Think of all the difficulties that can lift from your life when you ask for Gods’ wisdom on how to deal with situations.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,

And delivers them out of all their troubles.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,

And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous,

But the Lord delivers him out of all.

You can almost picture someone standing alone and afraid. Or maybe it is even you at this moment. God sent this scripture to remind us He is with us in times of trouble. We need to tell ourselves we have a big God, especially when are trials loom large. Jesus comforts the brokenhearted and saves us from a contrite (remorseful) spirit. Trouble is sent to keep us down not going forward with God. If you thought you had no way out your hope would disappear. Remind yourself during the afflictions that “the Lord delivers him out of all.” Not some…ALL.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Do you ever feel like a lump of clay all mushed about and dried out on the table? At this point your just a lump, really no purpose and wondering if you’re ever to be a bowl or a vase. Have you ever heard the phrase “do not despise small beginnings?” Zachariah 4:10. We have so much to learn in our walk on this earth that it takes time to develop. Just as clay goes through a process to become a plate or a vase, we must take time in our growth in the word. Every day we learn and progress forward if we are persistent in spending time with Jesus.

Psalm 37:25

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging for bread.

Experience is a great teacher. We learn where we should put our trust. When we put our faith in Jesus and become born again Gods’ righteousness is in us. Right standing gives us confidence that Jesus will help us through the tough times. He has promised to never forsake us or leave us begging. The promise of God means he will always provide a way out.
