1 Peter 2:21

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.

Peter was a witness to the life of Jesus and saw all that He suffered and went through.  That is why Peter can say that Jesus is an example of how we can overcome in the world.  Peter followed the example of Jesus doing the works of Jesus on this earth.  We have been called to follow in the footstep of Christ and overcome the devil just as Jesus overcame. 

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.

The church is so important to our lives as we are worshiping God together.  God enters our midst when we gather in His name.  We were never meant to be isolated and alone without fellow Christians.  We were meant to fellowship and support each other and we are stronger together than we are by ourselves.  We are like any family with its up and downs but without each other our lives would not have the same meaning. 

Isaiah 9:4

You have broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as the day of Midian.    

The burden of sin was meant to keep us from moving forward and fulfilling the plan for our lives through Jesus Christ.  Jesus broke that yoke of burden so we no longer have to live in guilt and shame for our sins and our past.  Now let it go! We have repented and we have been forgiven.  God’s plan cannot be fulfilled if we remain under the oppression. 

Romans 8:29,30

Whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.  Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; who He called, these He also justified; and who He justified, these He also glorified. 

God planned us and our lives long before this world came into existence.  He predestined us to be conformed to the image of Jesus and our lives are not a surprise to Him.  Our being saved and followers of Jesus is all in His plan and there is a plan for us to walk out on this earth.  We are called and justified in our faith in Jesus Christ so have confidence in God and your calling.

Romans 8:3,4

What the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin:  He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

The law does not make us righteous and the sins of the flesh cannot be made right by the law. Jesus became our sin substitute so the law could be fulfilled and we made righteous. We are to walk then according to the spirit and control our flesh. Our spirit is who we are not the flesh and the spirit is meant to rule the flesh.  When we walk by the spirit we fulfill the righteous requirement of the law.

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

What does strife do to us?  It causes anger, turmoil, sadness, depression and cuts off the inflow from God.  Peace allows the goodness of God to flow through us and helps us keep the flesh under control.  Our hearts when ruled by God’s peace has the assurance that it can overcome any circumstance.  Fear doesn’t have that. 

Proverbs 8:17

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.

When we want something in the natural, we spend a lot of time thinking about it and trying to figure out how we are going to get it.  We are diligent with our attention.  Why don’t we treat the promises of God the same way when we want healing, help financially, wisdom, and direction? The promises of God are the same for every believer be we need to be diligent in our belief.  Today, be diligent in seeking God and leave the past in the past.

John 14:21

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. 

Love is the curtain rod that all the promises of God hangs on.  The commandments of God are meant to set us free and not be burdens.  When we love Jesus, we love God and the truth of God will set us free from sin and death.  As we draw closer to Jesus and God the more we will gain understanding and He will manifest (make clear) Himself to us.

81John 4:7-8

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Love is always easier to do when we are having a good day, but what about bad days. The Bible is consistent and if we train our spirits to walk in the Lord, we will be consistent too.  Think of a wave tossed by the wind and imagine the Word being the calm spot in the storm on the water.  We need to be that calm (faith filled) spot on the water for ourselves and others. 

Isaiah 50:7

For the Lord God will help Me;

Therefore I will not be disgraced;

Therefore I have set My face like flint,

And I know that I will not be ashamed.

Sometimes we need to set our faces like flint and not compromise our believing the word of God.  We need to caste down those imaginations sent by the devil to steal our futures from us.  The Lord God will help us and not leave us disgraced but we have to make up our minds that we will believe the truth of God’s word.  The shame only comes when we waver from the truth and believe the lies of the devil.
