Psalm 119:9

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

Sometimes we need to take an inventory of our lives and cleanse the way. Maybe we have been frustrated, angry, impatient, and nothing seems to be going well.  We need to take inventory and control the flesh and regain the peace of God. God will speak to us every day through the word if we just let Him. 

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

No one likes to feel like they don’t know where they are going. The devil will send us distractions and block our path to make us think we are going in the wrong direction. Turn the lamp of the word on and light up the way. Search the bible for what it says over the situation, and it will bring revelation. Never think that God leaves us alone to struggle He is just waiting for us to turn to Him for guidance. 

Galatians 3:29

If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

An heir to a King acts with confidence and knows what they inherit from their father. The bible tells us what our inheritance is from God. The promises of God will work for us as we believe and speak the word over our lives.  Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible are the keys to thriving in our inheritance here on earth. 

2 Corinthians 3:5

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.

As we go deeper into trusting God, we learn to think and believe on a different level. We learn that God is well able to provide for all our needs and that faith is the key. When we completely understand and believe our sufficiency comes from God, we no longer worry as the world worries. We set the word of God before us in prayer and watch as God transforms our lives.

John 6:27

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him. 

God wants to be our provider and help us through each day. We were never meant to figure out everything in our lives. When we study the word and turn to God, we gain wisdom to deal with our day to day lives. The knowledge comes from Jesus and the word that develops our spirits and faith. A faith life should not look the same as the world because the world is toiling for all that it has.

Psalm 91:7

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your feet; but it shall not come near you.

We need to remind ourselves not to get stuck in looking at how we feel or what we see. Our circumstance does not represent how God is working in our lives. We can’t see the angels working on our behalf or the effect of our prayers on the world around us.  They are working. Circumstances will change God is in control.  

Romans 4:5

To him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

God doesn’t expect us to work for our righteousness. What He expects us to do is believe in Jesus and be saved. Our faith and belief in the word of God does the work for us, so we no longer have to feel guilty for past sins. Guilt doesn’t bring faith, and doubt never moved a mountain. Righteousness clears the past and allows God to move in our lives.

Galatians 3:6,7

Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.

Christianity does take commitment and belief in God and His word. Sometimes we need to check our faith commitment and see if distractions are creeping into our lives. It happens to all of us when we decide to believe toward something, but distractions are sent our way. Abraham believed God and never stopped, and that is the example we are set to follow.

James 1:19,20

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

When we slow ourselves down on the pathway to getting angry, we have more time to gain control and think things through. Getting angry can be a buildup of many things until we just explode. If we learn to slow the process down and deal with the original problem that upset us, it may not have to lead to anger. We must always consider whether the anger is worth losing our righteousness over. 

Ephesians 1:6,7

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Everyone wants to be accepted and to live in this life without the condemnation of sin. Jesus died to cover our sins and set us free of sin and death. Sin doesn’t increase our lives but decreases the possibilities in our lives. Without the grace of God and His forgiveness, we would remain stuck in troubles. Praise the Lord for His mercy and willingness to show us the way.
