Mark 16:17,18

These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

Jesus didn’t leave us helpless or powerless when he went to heaven.  He said to believe in Him and greater works we will do here on earth.  The devil wants us to believe that our faith is powerless, which usually means it is not.  That is why it is essential to develop our confidence and increase our knowledge of the promises of God.  Revelation knowledge about the word of God is power.

James 4:7

Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Somedays, we have to set the devil running with the word of God.  Those days he is shooting dart after dart at us remind him how big of a God we have and what the word says about us.  Resist the thoughts that come to the mind and cast down the imaginations that he tries to put in the brain.  Speak the word and keep speaking it until he gets the points and leaves you alone.

Ephesians 6:11-12

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Whether we realize it or not, we are in God’s army and will need “to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  God would never have told us to put on the armor if He didn’t know we would need it.  Speak the word, sing songs of praise unto God, remind ourselves that we have faith, and God loves us.  Don’t let the arrows of deceit get through and pierce the heart.

Matthew 6:20,21

Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

How do we store up treasures in heaven?  One way is to not concentrate on accumulating things here on earth.  It is ok to have possessions, but as long as they are not our focus.  Next, we need to focus on what is important to God.  We are meant to love people on earth and give into the development of the kingdom here.  God is intended to be the focus and our treasure.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Our heart is at the center of our giving.  If we have a giving issue, we have a heart issue, and it isn’t just about our finances.  Giving covers everything in our daily lives, from our interactions with people to our interactions with God.  If we want more friends, we have to be friendly.  If we want more kindness, we have to be kind ourselves.  Many times, what we need most is what we are withholding.

Psalm 119:65

You have dealt well with Your servant,

O Lord, according to Your word.

God is faithful to the word He speaks over our lives.  His promises are just as alive today as when they were first spoken. Not one of His promises has passed away or is unattainable for us today.  Our faith reaches out and takes healing or authority over our finances or whatever it may be that we need because God’s word is still alive and acting on our behalf.

Joshua 23:14

Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth.  And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you.  All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

God created the earth and all that is within it with the word.  He speaks His word to us through the bible with prophecy, the covenant, and through the example of Jesus.  Man, and the world may fail, but God will never fail.  His word works for us night and day.  Our job is to have faith and believe in the promises of God.

John 14:16,17

I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The Holy Spirit is within us to help us succeed in this world.  He knows the things of God and will bring us a revelation of the word and knowledge.  When we keep ourselves open and listen for His guidance, our lives will be transformed.  God has given us the greatest resource for transformation, and He lives within us.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

When we were born again, we became a temple for the Holy Spirit.  We are never alone.  God is in us and with us wherever we go.  God sees everything we see and goes with us everywhere we go.  A temple is a place that should be honored and kept as holy.  God wants us to be aware we were bought with a price and have a high value to Him.

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.

There are times when we will fall short, but God is faithful to forgive us when we come boldly to the throne and repent.  God is the God of mercy and grace, who understands our weakness and will help us through the trials.  In the time of trouble, we should be running toward God and not away from Him.
