John 15:7

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.   

Being a Christian isn’t about being perfect but more about being persistent.  Our love for Jesus and the word of God taking first place in our lives, actions, and intent.  It’s about being able to follow God and take Him at His word and being willing to listen for the direction.  The term abide refers to remaining fixed and stable and able to follow the rules or guidance.  As a Christian, we must understand how God works and abide with Him to move God into action with our faith.  

Luke 1:45

And blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Think of all of the promises of God written to us in the bible. Now, all that takes to be blessed by them is to believe.  The believing I am talking about is not just mental assent or the hope that God would possibly mean it but the fully persuaded faith.  When all doubt is gone and the expectation of the fulfillment of the word kind of faith.  Then, just sitting back and waiting for the performance because the Lord said He would. 

Mark 11:23

For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  

Sometimes as Christians, we forget that we are whosoever and can have whatsoever.  We are not small or insignificant to this world as the devil tries to make it seem.  Our faith has real power and truth behind it, and we need not be ashamed of the word.  We are here to be the example of what God-believing people are like and what they can accomplish.  Start speaking the word in faith and start shaking up this world.  

Mathew 17:20

And Jesus said to them, because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of a mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.    

A mustard seed is a small seed with great potential.  Never does it say, “Well, I am too small to grow into a great tree.”  The mustard seed, when put in the ground, just grows.  When we believe that we have the same seed of potential, nothing will be impossible for us.  The Holy Spirit resides in the believer to develop that potential, just believes, and don’t worry how the water will come or whether it will be sunny, only grow.  

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

In the beginning, words framed our world and created our lives.  Words are a creative force meant to be used to prosper, heal, and bring in our provision.  A word spoken in faith sends angels out on our behalf to supply all our needs when we speak in confidence.  We need to remind ourselves to choose to speak only words of life over our family, situations, and future.

Psalm 1:2-3

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditates day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  

 If we see a reward for the time spent in the word, then spending the time becomes easier.  Sin always tries to tell us that a shortcut will work better.  Sin’s alternative never does, and it brings disappointment.  However, when we treasure the law of the Lord and meditate on it and watch the prosperity come into our lives as our tree of faith grows, then the work seems like nothing at all.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul saw something in his walk with Jesus Christ through all his missions for God on earth.  The bible wasn’t available for Paul, and he wasn’t an apostle with Jesus when He walked the earth.  Paul still believed in what he couldn’t see, and he received revelation knowledge through the Holy Spirit about God.  Paul, being fully persuaded about what he believed.  Our job is to become just as convinced as Paul that we never doubt the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 13:20, 21

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is the well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.  

God made a covenant with us through the shed blood of Jesus.  This covenant allows God to be able to work in our lives so we can fulfill the plan He set down before we were born.  So, we can be perfect in every good work and be well pleasing in His sight.  The covenant brings God’s ability to help us overcome and work miracles in this life.  

Romans 6:5

For is we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.  

The goal of God was never to get us saved only and remain at that level.  Salvation was just the start of our world overcoming power through faith in Jesus Christ.  The apostles grew in faith and accomplished many miracles after the death of Jesus on the cross.  They are our example, along with Jesus, for what our lives can be on this earth.  

Jonah 2:2

In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.  From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry. 

We should not remain silent in a storm but cry out to the Lord.  Our voice speaking the word of God will defeat the forces that try to come against us.  God will lift us up and clear a path.  When we believe in God and follow His word, we will be amazed and humbled when He shows up to redeem us from our situation.  We are never alone.
