Psalm 89:15

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, Oh Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

Praise of the Lord helps us focus on the goodness and the light that God brings into our lives.  When we are thankful for something, we express our appreciation, and our spirits lift.  Praise lifts our spirits and moves us closer to God so we can walk in the light of His countenance.

James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We all have faults, and hiding them and denying the problem doesn’t make it go away.  When we confess our failures, we allow the light of Gods’ word to change our hearts and change the situation.  Guilt and unforgiveness will get in the way of healing.  A righteous man believes God and His word and prays moving God to act on our behalf.

Hebrews 10:1,2

People whose consciences have been cleansed don’t feel guilty anymore, and have no further need of sacrifices.

Guilt is a weapon used to try and keep us in the past.  The blood of Jesus took our sins and washed us clean, so we can move forward and learn from God.  God doesn’t want us looking back on the old self and ways but moving forward in righteousness.  If we sin and confess the sin and not repeat it, our consciences have been washed clean.

Ephesians 4:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Every day is new, and we need to build ourselves up for that day in the word. The time we spend reading and listening to the word of God helps renew our mind.  Reading the Bible will help change our attitudes and thoughts daily for the better.  Our brains need to focus on the word to stay on track and not get distracted by this cynical world.

Romans 8:33

Who will accuse God’s chosen people?  God himself declares them not guilty!

The devil is called the accuser of the people for a reason.  He doesn’t want to see the people saved by Jesus use their righteousness to rule and reign over him.  He will send darts or thoughts into our minds to make us feel guilty and condemned.  God said caste those imaginations down, get rid of them, and don’t allow them to stay as a thought.  Speak the word out loud and build yourself up in the word of God.

James 5:15

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

The same faith that believes for the forgiveness of sins is the same faith that believes for healing.  The devil will try to make us doubt the word of God, and so we don’t pray for our healing.  The bible says we were healed and that God is waiting for our prayer of faith.  Then stand on the word of God, and when the devil tries to bring in doubt, remind him what the bible says.

1 Peter 2:24

Who His own self bare our sins in His body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.

At the same time, Jesus died for our sins; we received salvation and healing.  The two are not separate for the believer and just as much our right here on earth.  The devil tries to make us believe we have to work for our healing, or Jesus doesn’t heal like that anymore.  That is not true.  Healing is still our right today and always available to us.

Ephesians 1 17-18

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. That the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

Paul knew that by gaining wisdom and revelation in our spirit, we gain knowledge of God.  We need this revelation so that we gain a deeper understanding of the word.  Sometimes we read the word and not understand the meaning it has for our lives.  The spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him is the key to make our life a success.

2 Corinthians 10:5

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

When a person realizes that not all the thoughts that come into their minds are their own, their eyes begin to open.  The bible calls them fiery darts, and they are a weapon to bring doubt, fear, depression, and oppression.  Cast the thoughts down and start speaking the word.  Don’t except the doubt and negativity into the mind.  The imaginations are just that imaginations without any bases of truth.  Speak the truth of the bible and be reminded of who we are in Christ.

Matthew 18:18

Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

One of the reasons that Jesus came to the earth was to regain the authority that was lost by Adam.  The born-again believer has that authority given to them.  We have the power to bind and the power to lose, but we haven’t been using it to the fullest potential.  The devil will lie and say all that passed away with Jesus and the cross, but the cross was just the beginning for the Christian.  When we start standing on the word of God, the devil can’t run from us fast enough.
