Deuteronomy 10:12

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

God loves us beyond measure.  His plan for our lives has always been for us to have the best.  He has put the bible and examples before us to show us how to live in this life.  He asks for our love and reverential fear of who He is and to serve Him in our hearts and souls.  Which, as a believer, should not intimidate us because we know the benefits we receive as a child of God.

Joshua 24:15

If it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.  But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

What we choose to serve in this life will affect our lives here and in eternity.  It is no small matter and one that reflects what we truly believe in and guides our decisions.  There is no sitting on the fence with God because His dedication to our lives is a covenant promise.  Jesus died on the cross to save us, and God is just asking us to choose.

Romans 12:1, 2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

This scripture isn’t as complicated as it seems.  Our spirit with the Holy Spirit’s help and the word of God is supposed to be guiding our minds and our bodies.  The body is just a shell, and our spirit is the real us.  The renewing of the mind to the word of God builds us up on the inside.  Then our spirit full of the word of God will reign over our flesh.

1 John 5:11

This is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

God gave the born-again believer eternal life through Jesus Christ.  We are part of a big plan to be a big family living together up in heaven.  Our lives are so much more than just here but have a place in the eternal.  We are important to God because He sees us as His family through Jesus.

Hebrews 2:18

In that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Jesus has suffered right along with us in being tempted to sin.  Sin may start as a velvet room but turns into a torture chamber when the door finally slams shut, and we can’t get out.  Jesus tells us to be careful with what we put before our eyes, listen to, and manage our thoughts.  If we keep our minds renewed, we are stronger in the fight.

Psalm 119:11

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

We should have the word of God hidden in our hearts ready for the days the devil throws darts our way. Words that knockdown any imaginations that may start that could lead us into sin.  Words that affirm our stance and our faith and remind the devil of our righteousness.

2 Peter 1:4

By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We can have un-Godly desires for money, recognition, power, things, people.  But, God has given us more significant promises for our lives that outshine anything we can dream of here on earth.  These promises allow us to access the divine nature.  The divine nature will cause us to increase and be a success here on earth.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

The bible is an instructional guide on how to live and avoid the pitfalls of life.  We can find all examples of humanity and how their decisions (good or bad) affected their lives.  These examples in the word of God frees us from trying to figure out everything for ourselves.  The word exists to light our path so we can succeed.

Matthew 25:34

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

We have an inheritance through Jesus Christ promised by God.  Be of good cheer no matter what is going on in the world; the word says Jesus Christ has overcome the world.  God loves his people, and we have a reward as faithful followers of Him.

Psalm 33:6

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

God spoke us and this world into being with words.   When we recite the word, we either build up our faith or tear it down.  Our words are so essential to us overcoming every circumstance that may arise and keep the devil under our feet.
