John 12:49-50

For I have never spoken on My own initiative or authority, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment regarding what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life. So things I speak, (in accordance with His exact instruction) just as the Father has told Me.

Are we speaking according to the Word and the instruction of God? Do our words speak of eternal life, or are we speaking of death? Our words matter because they will amplify the situation, whether it is a positive or negative experience. If we talk negative comments, the circumstance will stay negative. Only by speaking Faith-filled words and believing them will we be speaking life.

Mark 11:23

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be lifted up and thrown down into the sea!” and does not doubt in his heart (in God’s unlimited power), but believes that what he says going to take place, it will be done for him (in accordance with God’s will).

Faith takes practice! If we don’t have the Faith to move a headache, a mountain is out of our reach. Our Bible needs more face time than our phone, computer, and television to move mountains. When we concentrate on the Word, we build ourselves up to mountain-moving Faith. The door to Faith is waiting for us to walk through it and put it to work in our circumstances.

James 1:25

But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a (careless) listener who forgets but an active doer (who obeys), he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does (in his life of obedience).

Our lives will radically change when we become active doers of the Word and when the Bible becomes a living word to our hearts and the foundation of our daily lives. As we speak the Word, we will speak life and walk into the law of liberty by our faith. We will be doers of the Word, steadfast and strong.

James 1:12

Blessed (happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God) is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the (victor’s) crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

We must be determined and firm in our beliefs when we enter trials. As Christians, we have God’s Word and examples in the Bible that show us how to be firmly fixed on the Word and not subject to change. We have a crown waiting for us as we remain unmovable and reliant on Jesus.

Galatians 5:7-9

You were running (the race) well; who has interfered and prevented you from obeying the truth? This (deceptive)persuasion is not from Him who called you (to freedom in Christ). A little leaven (a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole batch (it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the church).

We are not to believe everything we hear or see but test what is before us against the Word of God. The Word is our truth and guide, given to us to sift what is false against the truth. An error in the truth of God’s Word that slips into our lives will lead us away from God.

Galatians 4:32

It was for this freedom that Christ set us free (completely liberating us); therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery (which you once removed).

Hold fast to the confession of faith and focus on the light of the Word and the good news of the Lord. We have been set free from the yoke of sin, oppression, and repression. The barrier of sin now removed allows us to enter into the plan of God for our lives. This plan requires us to live free to enter a relationship with Him.

Galatians 4:31

So then, believers, we (who are born again-reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose) are not children of a slave woman (the natural), but of a free woman (supernatural).

As born-again believers, we are set free from sin and slavery to that sin. We are to walk separate from the way the world walks, not turning to and conforming to the worldly nature that promotes sinful lifestyles. We must sustain our freedom and make better choices with the help of the Holy Spirit to flee from temptations that come across our path.

John 8:32

And you will know the truth (regarding salvation), and the truth will set you free (penalty of sin). So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.

We who are born again have been set free from sin by Jesus. All the old self and sins have washed away. If the devil tries to bring up the old memories of sin, we reject and cast down that memory. We remind the devil of John 8:32 by quoting the scripture and keep reminding him each time he brings the memory up. The devil will flee before the Word of God.

Jeremiah 33:8

I will cleanse them from all their wickedness (guilt) by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon (forgive) all their sins by which they rebelled against me.

Turn away from sin. Sin brings torment, guilt, fear, and blindness to God’s Word because of a seared conscious. God will forgive us when we confess our sins. It helps to have a plan for avoiding sin before it occurs. When we make up our minds to follow Jesus no matter what, we will have a soft heart to the conviction of the Holy Spirit to avoid sin.

John 6:47

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

Jesus died so we could have eternal life. The knowledge of everlasting life gives us a clear perspective of hope and meaning. We have a purpose. Our lives are not meaningless! Our goal is to reflect the light and love of Jesus to others here on earth.
