2 Corinthians 5:1

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

When we are born again Christians we should not be afraid of death because we know where we are going to go when we die.  We must remember our spirits are eternal and we shall live with our God in heaven forever. Since we know this, we should be striving to get as many people as we can born again so they can live eternally with God also.  We are connected to each and can bring the light of God’s love into other people’s lives.

Hebrews 10:36

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

We live in a want it and have it now kind of world, but big dreams from God take some time.  God says that when we pray for something according to His word we have it on a spiritual level before it appears in the natural. We don’t need to pray the prayer again we just need to let God work and stand in faith.  Look at the time it takes a seed to mature to a plant above ground. We need to settle ourselves in the word of God with confidence and watch God produce our harvest from our faith.

Proverbs 29:25

The fear of man brings a snare,

But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

We need to be careful that what we speak are faith words and not fear words.  Why?  Because we speak what we believe in our heart whether it be faith or fear.  If we speak faith words we are trusting in the Lord, and He will keep us safe, but God can’t keep us safe if we speak words of fear. Faith and fear operate on the same principle of believing and speaking.  That is the snare, and we do it to ourselves by not turning to the Word and speak faith words over our circumstance.

Romans 8:6

To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

We need to remind our bodies that we run them and not the other way around.  To do this, we must be careful of what we see, hear and say. Our spirits were always meant to be the driving force of our lives because when we are born again, our spirit is in constant contact with God. When we renew our minds with the word, we become spiritually minded, and that is life and peace.

1 Corinthians 9:27

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

We have all heard the saying practice what we preach.  Which is so true when we become an example for something we need to practice in private before we take it public.  If we can’t control our temper or the words that come out of our mouth who will believe our witness.  Learning personal lessons about how to control ourselves boosts our confidence and helps us to relate to others in similar circumstance.

John 15:4-5

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

We were designed to have a close relationship with God.  Meaning the more we study the Bible and get the word of God inside us the more He will abide in us.  Just as a child watches and imitates, the parent so does the word show us how to imitate God.  We will see an increase when our soul is renewed by the word of God.  The closer we keep God and His word in our daily lives the more we will overcome in this life.

James 5:16

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.  The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Have you ever noticed that the devil has an easier time condemning us with secrets than he does when we confess our faults?  Suddenly, our problem decreases in size because we no longer let it control us and we take control over it with the help of God.  Confessing our faults releases healing into our lives.  When we pray in faith to God, we receive answers and help in our lives.

1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their payers;

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

What a reassurance it should be to us to know that God’s eyes are upon us.  When we pray, He is listening when we pray in faith.  God is not a distant God but involved in our lives, hopes, and dreams.  He knows when we are troubled and when we pray to God, He will lift us up.  Keep your focus on God and not the problem and He will guide you to the answer.

Luke 11:33

No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.

The hurting and lost in the world need a light.  The lost of this world need genuine and caring people to show them what Love looks and acts like.  They need us to know God and what He represents and if we act like Him they will see Love in action.  We are watched by people more than we think. They wonder what makes our lives better and different and that is God showing through us.  Jesus showed people the possible in the impossible, He was a lamp in the darkness.

Luke 6:22-23

Blessed are you when men hate you,

And when they exclude you,

And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,

For the Son of Man’s sake.

Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!

For indeed your reward is great in heaven,

For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

The world hated Jesus and will hate us as His representatives on earth, but without us here life would be pretty miserable.  Don’t be surprised or offended when we stand up for Christian values, that not everyone will agree.  People in sin don’t always recognize what they are doing without us to show them a better way.  God is with us wherever we go and will be our shield and protection.  God will give us wisdom and sensitivity as His representatives.
