Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not reject or take lightly the discipline of the Lord (learn from your mistakes and the testing that comes from His correction through discipline) nor despise His rebuke, for those whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights. 

When we love the Lord and want to do what is right in His sight, we welcome correction. We don’t want to do something that would hinder the plan or work God has for us in this life. God loves us and corrects us to keep us from harm and helps us live better lives.
