Psalm 112:7-8

He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting (confidently relying on and believing) in the Lord. His heart is upheld, he will not fear while he looks (with satisfaction) on his adversaries.

Courage comes as we practice our faith and lean on the Lord. Fear does not come near us when we guard what we see, hear, and focus on. When we remain steadfast and trust in the Lord, believing and speaking the Word laid before us, we will not fear. God is more powerful than any circumstance and always has a plan.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but (He has given us a spirit) of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline (abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced min and self-control).

Kenneth Hagin Sr said, “Feeling is the voice of the body; reasoning is the voice of the mind; conscience is the voice of the spirit.” When it comes to fear, which voice are we listening to? The voice of the spirit should be our guide in all that we do! That spirit will lead us to power, love, and sound judgment, removing fear.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous, do ne be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.

If we don’t believe in the Word and take our courage from God, we will not overcome the stresses of life. What we believe affects how we act and react and the confession that comes out of our mouths. Our strength comes from the Lord! If we don’t confess this truth with our mouths, we won’t have the strength in times of trouble.

Ephesians 6:10

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord (draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him) and in the power of His (boundless) might.

We are not meant to carry the burdens of life on our own. Our strength and power come from the Most High God, and we are to draw on that power. Our prayers, confessions, and renewing of the mind with the Word keep us plugged into the source (God). We praise and worship, and God moves on our behalf bringing us comfort and strength to walk through another day.

John 14:17

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Finding peace when all our minds hear is storm can feel unattainable. That is when we must remind ourselves of the promises of God. We must speak to the storm and let the storm hear the power of the Word. We will dwell on what we focus on and let that focus rest on the Bible.

Psalm 37:5-6

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him also and He will do it. He will make your righteousness (your pursuit of right standing with God) like the light, and your judgement like (the shining of) the noonday (sun).

When we commit our way to the Lord, we increase our Bible study time and learn God’s character. That means we look to the Bible to know what God has planned for our lives. A transformation will happen in our lives as God increases our knowledge and faith as we learn. God will commit to helping us grow and transform into stronger people of faith.

Malachi 4:2

But for you who fear My name (with awe-filled reverence) the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go forward and leap (joyfully) like calves (released from the stall.

When we use the name of the Lord in reverence, we show our deep respect for God. We acknowledge all that has been done and that God is doing on our behalf. Our relationship with God is meant to bring joy into our hearts because the Love of God is not a burden. Take a moment and connect with God in reverence and love because He loves us.

Psalm 34:15

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous (those with moral courage and spiritual integrity) and His ears are open to their cry.

When troubles arise, it is essential for us to pray to God in faith. God waits on the call of the righteous to hear and answer their prayer. God cannot help us unless we pray and invite Him into our problems. When problems come, we had better be speaking to God and the mountain.

Matthew 21:22

And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.

When we believe, we accept that something is true or exists. Our confidence is at a level where no doubts enter our minds; if they do, they are dismissed. It is vital in prayer that our belief is solid, with no doubts or questions in our minds. When we do this, our prayers will be answered.

1 John 5:15

And if we know (for a fact, as indeed we do) that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we know (with settled and absolute knowledge) that we have (granted to us) the request which we have asked from Him.

John knew for a fact that God listens and hears the prayers. Our confidence in God’s faithfulness and love should increase so that we can attend to our needs as we pray to God. When we use our faith in prayer, God will answer our requests.
