Psalm 107:10-11

Some dwelt in darkness and in the deep (deathly) darkness, prisoners (bound) in misery and chains, because they had rebelled against the precepts of God and spurned the counsel of the most High.

When we read the Bible, we see people in rebellion and people of faith. They can both have troubles; the difference is whether God is with them and leading them to safety and salvation, whereas sins lead to death and destruction without salvation and eternal life. People make choices every day to follow God or to follow evil. The choice is a temporary reward on earth or an everlasting reward in heaven. Choose wisely!

Matthew 12:36

But I tell you, on the day of judgment, people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak.

Careless talk doesn’t bring about productive lives or encouragement. We have more power to influence the outcome of our lives with words than we realize. God doesn’t want us to waste our faith resources with words that bring us nothing of value in return.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have (received as a gift) from God, and that you are not you own (property)?

The greater one resides inside the born-again believer. God goes with us everywhere we go, waiting to help us daily. We should be mindful and respectful of the continual presence of God. He is our resource for a faith-filled life and is waiting for us to spend time with Him.

Matthew 12:34-35

You brood of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out that which fills the heart. The good man, from his (inner) good treasure, brings out good things; and the evil man, from his (inner) evil treasure brings out evil things.

We should think before we speak! If we believe we will say something out of line with the word of God, then say nothing until we have rested or adjusted our attitude. We don’t want to be the reason for our problems, but our faith-filled words will raise us when we use them.

Matthew 7-8

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keep on knocking it will be opened.

Because we have an enemy here on earth, we will face opposition. We must be strong, persistent, and unrelenting in our faith in the Word. Faith expects fulfillment because God said He would meet us in our time of need when we ask. The enemy will oppose and try to slow down the answer, but God is faithful when we are persistent.

Ephesians 4:29

Do not let unwholesome words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear.

The words we speak about ourselves, or others build or tear us down. We can track how our lives will go by our thoughts and the words generated by those thoughts. When we don’t cast down negative and unproductive thoughts, we will speak them. Strive to be a blessing to ourselves and others by a productive, faith-filled thought life and speech.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen (the confliction of their reality-faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses).

We can’t see everything like God, but we can believe like God. In the Bible, God tells us that all things are possible if we think according to His word. Faith is our assurance by believing the word and speaking the word. Not according to what we see or feel but according to the promises of God.

Psalm 33:8-9

Let all the earth fear and worship the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

We need to have the awe factor when it comes to our faith in God. If we don’t, we will be lukewarm Christians, not believing that what God speaks will happen. Hot faith knows, sees, and experiences God working in their lives daily. We will keep the faith stirred in our hearts by worshiping the Lord and shouting His praises.

Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing (what is told), and what is heard comes by the (preaching of the) message concerning Christ.

Are we hearing the message? We have been given a measure of faith by God. A starter seed that we are to develop and increase. The message of Christ is salvation to those who believe in faith that Jesus died for our sins. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, but we can move mountains with faith.

Proverbs 19:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.

Life comes from the word of God! A faith life is built up on believing and speaking the word. A life that chooses and uses the word every day creates a faith foundation. The more we practice our faith, the stronger the power of that faith against our circumstances. We cannot be passive in our faith but active doers of the word.
