Job 5:22

At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. 

This is incredible advice from a man who saw more destruction in his life than anyone.  What did Job do?  He trusted God, and God showed Job the truth of where he erred.  Job learned to laugh and trust in the face of adversity, and God put him back on the right track.  

Galatians 5:24

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  

Our flesh should be controlled, and we are not to let our feelings rule.  The flesh will throw a tantrum if we let it, and offense will quickly come, which then will block blessings in our lives.  We can’t go by our feelings because feeling change.  When the Spirit rules our flesh and feelings, we can walk in peace and rule over circumstances.

Romans 12:9,10 (TLB)

Don’t just pretend that you love others: really love them.  Hate what is wrong.  Stand on the side of the good.  Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each other.

We, as Christians, are supposed to love one another.  Love is the curtain rod that everything we believe and hope for hangs on.  We may not always agree with what other people do, but our example of love will shine over hate.   If we hate something, it should be that which is wrong and goes against the word of God.  Brotherly affection is what the people of this world need.

Proverbs 8:21 (TLB)

Those who love and follow me are indeed wealthy.  I fill their treasuries.

When we follow God and His Word, we learn from the best example of how succeed here on earth.  We learn how to trust His promises and follow the example set out in the Bible. We learn how to fellowship with Him and wait for His direction.  When we follow God, we show we love Him, and He leads us into ways to have a full and abundant life. 

Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

The devil will attack our spirits by attacking our bodies.  He sends sickness to make us question whether Jesus died for our sins and sicknesses. The devil wants us to get down and depressed.  Laugh at him and praise God, and thank God for your healing. Let our hearts be merry because we have the answer in Jesus.   If we need to take medicine praise and thank God for our healing as we take the pills and remind the devil that the healing is ours. 

Luke 1:37

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

We need reminding how important we are to God.  How much Jesus suffered on the cross, and He took our sins and sickness for us to be able to connect with God and His power. God wants to do the impossible on our behalf.  When we become fully convinced that God is all He says He is and can do all He says He can do, then we will see that “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

1 Peter 2:24

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.

The devil would like us to think we are dead men walking. Gods’ word said were HEALED before we ever get sick.  We have the healing, and we take hold of it by faith.  Focus on the word of God and recite the scriptures that say we are healed.  Don’t give up and don’t back down.

Mark 11:25

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any; that you Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  

The devil uses offenses and unforgiveness as a weapon in his arsenal.  He knows if he can get us hurt and offended, he can slow or stop our prayers and blessings.  We have the power of love in our arsenal that has been given to us by God through Jesus.  The offense should become like water off a ducks’ back, and we just shake it off and let love rule the day.

Isaiah 43:26

Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.  

When we pray, God says to put Him in remembrance of His word, not because He needs reminding, but for us to remember the promises of God.   By praying the scripture, we are praying specifically for the need.  Our focus is clear and our belief that the promise is ours because the word says so.  We are justified because we are praying, according to the word of God.  

Ephesians 6:10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Our strength must come from the Lord’s power working within us.  We are not designed to travel through this life without help and direction.   There is a significant burden removed from our lives when we remember that God is there with us to give us strength.  We don’t have to feel alone but tap into the power of God inside us.
