Psalm 91:15-16

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.  With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.  

God is in our corner and ready to fight for us when we are in trouble.  Make God the first call forever problem and every circumstance in life.  Let Him fight the battle and stay in peace.  We don’t need to figure out how it will get done.  Just sit back and praise God for the answer and watch the miracle unfold before our eyes.

Psalm 20:4

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

A new year has come upon us again, a time of reflection and a time of change.  May this year be better than the last, and you can grow closer to God and see Him work mightily in your life.  Be blessed, loved, and highly favored child of God.

Proverbs 23:7

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

The Bible says to guard our hearts, for out of it come the issues of life.  What we think in our hearts is how we truly feel.  Our focus then is vital.  We cannot expose our heart to the negative daily and expect it to produce positive thoughts.  We need to train ourselves to turn away from that which doesn’t build us up spiritually. 

1 Corinthians 6:20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your Spirit, which are God’s. 

We have a high value to God! The devil doesn’t want us to realize that every born-again person was bought with a price.  We can glorify God by keeping our bodies holy and out of sin.  We can glorify God in our Spirit with praise and worship and build ourselves up in the most high 

God.  We are God’s, and He loves us.

1 Corinthians 1:10

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.  

There is only one Bible, yet we still have divisions.  The church unified is a strength the devil cannot overcome.  A time is coming when we, the Church, must stand together to represent the word and Christianity.  Our power to overcome sin in this world is through Jesus.  The devil will not defeat a unified church!

Romans 11:33

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

God is a treasure for us that we should rely on more.  God knows the beginning from the end!  He knows the answers to our problems and how to avoid the issues in the first place.  God sees our heart and what needs to be healed.  He has wisdom and knowledge that we can’t even fathom.  We already have every resource we could ever need in God, and God loves it when we turn to Him for the answers.

Romans 8:1-2

There is therefore now no condemnations to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  

Our Spirit, when connected to God, is our greatest world overcoming asset.  The connection between our Spirit and the Holy Spirit allows us to be guided by God.  This connection keeps us free from the law of sin and death. We don’t need to know or understand how everything works in this life when we are connected to God.  We need to trust and turn to God for guidance to keep us out of sin.   

Romans 7:15-17

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that I do.  If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.  Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.  

There is a battle between the flesh and the Spirit.  How many times do we have regrets when our flesh takes over, and we say something we shouldn’t.  We know it at the time, and we do “what I hate,” as Paul said.  Sin rises, and we don’t stop our flesh from taking over.  Our spirit can control our flesh as we develop in the word and speak our faith.  We have to exercise our faith, which increases our spiritual strength.  

Luke 5:16

And he (Jesus) withdrew into the wilderness, and prayed.  

We can only get glimpses of the full spiritual life of Jesus, but at this point in Luke, Jesus’s ministry is very busy.  Luke shows us that Jesus separated Himself from all that was going on to pray.  Jesus took a step back from the schedule to refuel Himself with prayer and fellowship with God.  Jesus shows us that we may have to step back in our busy schedules and find direction through prayer.  

Luke 4:34

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth: are thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.  

Does it not amaze that people will put more stock in evil spirits than a reality of God?  The devils knew precisely who Jesus was on a spiritual level.  He also knows exactly who we are on a spiritual level.  That is why the devil does not want a Christian to grow in the word and speak the word.  We have power over the spirits, just like Jesus, and we can use that power.
