Jeremiah 29:12-13

Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear (your voice) and I will listen to you. Then (with deep longing) you will seek Me and require Me (as a vital necessity) and (you will) find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 

We pray and seek God because He is vital to the believer’s life. God wants to fellowship with us and have a relationship with His people. When we incorporate God into our lives, He will lead and guide us with the Holy Spirit. We are to call upon God and let Him hear your voice in prayer!

Timothy 2:1-2

First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in (positions of) high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.  

Praying for people makes a difference, whether they are family or people in leadership. We need to pray to intercede on behalf of God to fight against the evil influence. We, as believers, have more influence and spiritual power through prayer than we know. Our prayers invite God into the situations to influence them to live Godly lives. 

Isaiah 45:8

Rain down, O heavens, from above, let the clouds pour down righteousness (all the blessings of God); let the earth open up, let salvation bear fruit, and righteousness spring up with it; I, the Lord, have created it.  

Everything good, lovely, and honest comes from God. God created us for His good purpose. Sin was never supposed to be a part of our natures, but righteousness was to spring up in our lives. As Christians, we need to remove the idols and sins from our lives and shine as the lights God intended us to be.  

Isaiah 45:6-7

The people may know from the rising to the setting of the sun (the world over) that there is no one except Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. The One forming light and creating darkness, causing peace and creating disaster; I am the Lord who does all these things.

The Lord alone created the earth, and there is only one God. Knowledge of God leads to righteousness, wisdom, salvation, and a future beyond this earth. We were never meant to worship idols, stars, or nature but God and God alone. Our help and prosperity come from God and our focus on Him. God is the only power source we need on this earth. 

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God (Elohim) created (by forming from nothing) the heavens and the earth.

Man, through the generations, has always tried to create a world separate from God. When sin entered the world, so did separation and rebellion from the creator. When a person comes to the full knowledge that there is only one God and He created everything, the veil of sin is removed. God is the only source of life, health, and wisdom. We flourish when we make our faith solid in the Word of God. 

John 1:4-5

In Him was life (and the power to bestow life), and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appreciate it or absorb it (and is unreceptive to it).

The attitude of sin is always rebellion. Sin doesn’t want to listen or change direction even when it is proven wrong. Sin is selfish and self-serving and pleases the flesh. God sent Jesus as a light to restore and convict people of sin. Jesus reveals sin by convicting our hearts and God through the Word. Jesus is the only way to eternal life. 

John 1:1

In the beginning (before all time) was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was (continually existing) in the beginning with God.

It has always been about God and the Word. God spoke this world into existence with the Word. God created the Bible so we could read it and understand His plan of sending Jesus. God is our creator, savior, and redeemer. The more we imbed ourselves in the Word and fill ourselves with its wisdom, the stronger our partnership with God will be.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous, do ne be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.  

If we don’t believe in the Word and take our courage from God, we will not overcome the stresses of life. What we believe affects how we act and react and the confession that comes out of our mouths. Our strength comes from the Lord! If we don’t confess this truth with our mouths, we won’t have the strength in times of trouble. 

1 Peter 5:6-7

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God (set aside self-righteous pride), so that He may exalt you (to a place of honor in His service) at the appropriate time, casting all your care on Him, for He cares about you (with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully).

We can’t know it all and walk with pride in our lives because we have such limited human knowledge. God knows all, sees all, and has the power to raise people up or set them down. When we are humble and aware of our limitations, we allow room for God to lead us. God wants the best for us if we humble ourselves and follow His lead. 

Genesis 28:15

Behold, I am with you and will keep (careful watch over you and guard) you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this (promised) land; for I will not leave you until I have down what I have promised you.”

God is faithful, and He keeps the promises that He makes to His people. God is not moved in times of trouble but speaks to the problem, and the problem must move. Circumstances change as faith and the Word move the obstacles out of the way. Faith is our substance and our evidence of things hoped for.
