Psalm 4:3

But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself (and dealt wonderfully with) the godly man (the one of honorable character and moral courage-the one who does right). 

In the bible, the person who walks upright before the Lord receives a reward. The godly man’s relationship allows God to move in the person’s life and guidance to come to that person. There is an open door of communication between God and the upright, and God desires to fellowship with His people.  

Mark 11:25-26

Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him (drop the issue, let it go), so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings (against Him and others). (But if you do not forgive, neither will the Father in heaven forgive your transgressions).

Unforgiveness can be a roadblock to getting our prayers answered and stop us from living in peace. Unforgiveness is like the pebble that we need to shake out of a shoe. The pebble is a constant irritant that only we can remove, and we can’t move freely and live in peace in life until we do.

Mark 2:17

When Jesus heard this, He said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, but (only) those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners (who recognize their sin and humbly seek forgiveness).”

Someone who isn’t saved and has never learned about God, the Bible, or Jesus will not see their error. That is why the church and its people are such an essential representation of God. When we emulate Jesus on earth, people will be drawn to us and want to know what we believe.  

Matthew 12:34-35

You brood of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man, from (inner) good treasure, brings out good things; and the evil man, from (his inner) evil treasure, brings out evil things. 

If we fill our hearts with the word and the goodness of God, we will speak good things. If we dwell on negativity and offense and are critical of others, our speech will reflect our hearts. Our hearts are apparent to others by the words we speak. We protect our hearts by our relationship with the word and guidance of the Holy Spirit. 

Matthew 24:44-45

Therefore, you must also be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect it. Who then is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others their food and supplies at a proper time? 

No matter what it looks like in the world, we must keep steadfast with God. Jesus is coming back soon, and we must be unmovable and not get weary. God will sustain us as we continue strong in the Lord and His word faithfully working out our call. Keep the focus on God, and He will take care of the world.  

Matthew 10:22

And you will be hated by everyone because of (your association with) My name, but it is the one who has patiently preserved and endured to the end who will be saved.

As Christians, we are taught to love others and be kind, and we must be prepared not to be loved back. The Church and Christian people temper the spread of evil in the world. Our presence and influence are essential in government, community, and work. Don’t give up, and let your light shine.  

Matthew 7:8

For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.  

We can’t give up when it comes to the things of God and finding the answers to questions. Our faith knows that God is our answer and our guide. When we take the time to pray to God with a question, we must listen to God for the reply. God will show us the answer when we pray in faith and thanksgiving.  

Psalm 40:13

Be pleased, O Lord, to save me; O Lord, make haste to help me. Let those be ashamed and humiliated together Who seek my life to destroy it; let those be turned back (in defeat) and dishonored.  

God hears and answers prayers for protection! It takes one look at the news to know that evil is prevalent and seeking who it can devour. Our job is to pray protection over ourselves to avoid pitfalls and traps. Get in the habit of reciting Psalm 91 every day and thank the Lord for His hand of protection to be upon you.  

2 Corinthians 13:14

Finally, believers, rejoice! Be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace (enjoy the spiritual well-being experienced by believers who walk closely with God), and the God of love and peace will be with you.  

God, from the beginning, wanted to walk closely and fellowship with us. If we are looking for what completes our lives, it is God. The close relationship with God opens the door for communication and guidance for us and fills the gaps we may have in our hearts. 

John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous; I have overcome the world.  

We may not be able to control our circumstances, but we can control our attitude. Our attitude and peace go together if we trust the Lord and seek Jesus at all times. Peace means we trust God, who is bigger than the circumstance. If we want to see changes in our lives, focus on Jesus, who has overcome the world.
