Matthew 6:5-6
Also, when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to pray (publicly) standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets so that they may be seen by men. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they have their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to you Father in secret, and your Father who sees (what is done) in secret will reward you.
When it comes to prayer, form is substance! How we pray means something to God because the intention of our heart matters. Our concentration should be on God alone when we pray. We are not praying to impress others but to gain the attention of God. That is why a quiet space to pray makes all the difference to our time with God.
