Mark 6:3

Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are His sisters not here with us? And they were (deeply) offended by Him (and their disapproval blinded them to the fact that He was anointed by God as the Messiah).

Letting ourselves be offended stunts our spiritual growth. When we don’t see God’s wisdom coming to us from the Word, we won’t see  His teachings help us check for offenses. It is hard to follow God when we don’t have peace because our minds are stuck going over past hurt.
