Proverbs 13:1

A wise son heeds and accepts (and is the result of) his father’s discipline and instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to the reprimand and does not learn from his errors.

Sometimes pride, offense, or making decisions by feelings will cause a person not to want to listen to sound wisdom. If the same problems keep occurring, it may be time to examine our hearts and turn to the knowledge of God. We are to learn from our errors and not repeat mistakes.
