James 1:12

Blessed (happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God) is the man who is steadfast under trial and preserves when tempted, for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 

We should be calm when trials come to us but have a plan for how we will react. When we police our thoughts and cast down anything that doesn’t align with God’s word, our trials will be shortened. If we choose not to let the flesh get the better of us, we will succeed in avoiding temptation. As believers, problems will come to us, but our attitude will make all the difference.
