James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom (to guide him through a decision or circumstance), he is to ask of (our benevolent) God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. 

We all need direction when we are going through life. When times are challenging, it takes one word from God for reassurance in the order we follow. If we remain in a close relationship with God and His word, the line of communication is readily available. God will give to us generously when we ask for wisdom.
